Summary:

Multicenter, randomized study enrolled 400 stroke patients aged ≥60 years to compare prolonged Holter ECG monitoring (10 days at baseline, 3 months, and 6 months) versus standard care (≥24-hour ECG monitoring).

Key Findings:

Prolonged/iterative monitoring substantially increases AF detection after ischemic stroke compared with standard short-term monitoring.

AF/Aflutter ≥30 s detected at 6 months in 14% with prolonged monitoring vs 5% with standard care.
