A randomized trial evaluating the accuracy of AF detection by four external ambulatory ECG monitors compared to permanent pacemaker AF detection
Authors: Will Eysenck, Nick Freemantle and Neil Sulke.
Summary:
Evaluated the accuracy of AF detection by four external ambulatory ECG monitors compared to permanent pacemaker AF detection.
Key Findings:
Zio’s AF-burden estimates showed near-perfect agreement with the “gold standard” of dual-chamber pacemaker reference (R² = 0.99; MSE = 0.24).
Other ACMs performed notably worse: Bardy CAM (R² = 0.96; MSE = 60.1), Nuubo vest (R² = 0.50; MSE = 84.65), and Novacor R-Test 4 (R² = 0.029; MSE = 1,556.1).
