Summary:

Retrospective study of 126 patients with unexplained syncope who were discharged from the ED or ED observation unit with a 14-day ambulatory ECG patch monitor, designed to evaluate whether ED-initiated monitoring influenced arrhythmia diagnosis and subsequent medical management.

Key Findings:

10.3% patients had change in medical management (initiation of antiarrhythmic drugs, diagnostic testing, cardiac related procedures).
